Tax Codes & Rates

This article explains what tax codes and rates come in-built with your Actionstep system. 

Various tax codes and rates will come in-built into your system depending on the region that is used at the time of set-up. 

To find, edit, create or delete a tax code - navigate to Admin > Accounting > Tax Codes & Rates

In New Zealand your tax codes will look as below: 

In Australia your tax codes will look as below: 

In the United Kingdom your tax codes will look as below: 

In the United States your tax codes will look as below, by default the USA is set to no tax codes: 

Editing a tax code

To edit a tax code that is already present, for example, if you would like to rename it or your sales tax rate changes. 

Click on the box next to the tax code you would like to edit and then click on the edit button. 

You are then given a selection of fields that you can edit and then hit the green save button. 

Adding a new tax code 

To add a new tax code click on the green New Tax Code button. 

You are then given a selection of fields that you need to create 

The * denotes required fields. 

Hit the Green Save button when you are ready to save. 

Deleting a tax code

To delete a tax code click on the box next to the tax code you wish to remove and then click delete. 

You will be asked to confirm the deletion. Hit the green confirm button if you would like to delete this tax code. 

WARNING: You are unable to delete tax codes that have been used in the system. You can only delete tax codes that have not been used.
