Trust Account - Add Matter Types

This article explains how to add trust accounts to matter types. 

When you first set up your trust accounting or you add a matter type to your Actionstep system you may find that you do not have a trust accounting menu. 

This is because all Matter Types (that require trust accounting to be enabled) must be set up for Trust accounting by going to Admin > Trust Accounting. 

To enable a Trust Accounting on a specific Matter Type click on the Add New Matter Type button. 

You can then choose the matter type(s) that are required to be enabled and also the Client Participant Type on the matter (the Client Participant Type is the person to whom the trust funds belong to - normally this would be the Client participant type on the matter). 

TIP: You can choose multiple matter types to add by holding down command or shift 

You will now be able to see the trust accounting menu in matters of that matter type.
